You have misinterpreted the data just as was intended.
The number is not the short interest.
You can look that up tomorrow .
The figure is the total of shares sold that MM reported as short.
These may or may not be short sales, in fact they may be long sales.
The figure is actually a better indication of what percentage of the days trades were sales vis a vis buys.
