NHL suspends Prospal for two games and Turco for one
TORONTO (AP) -- Tampa Bay Lightning forward Vaclav Prospal was suspended for two games and Dallas Stars goaltender Marty Turco was suspended for one Tuesday because of separate altercations.
Prospal was penalized for cross-checking Ottawa's Chris Neil on Monday. He will lose $17,222.22 in salary, with the money going to the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund.
Prospal will miss games against Montreal and Dallas, and be eligible to return Jan. 25 at Nashville.
Turco was suspended for high-sticking Colorado's Peter Forsberg on Monday. Turco will lose $3,564,81 in salary and miss Wednesday night's game against Columbus.
