I like the basics behind the change. I've always believed, with a few exceptions, the more mods, the better. Many misbehaved posters become outstanding posters when given the responsibility. I think the "add me as mod" button should remain to make it easy.

There's always those troubled boards that become an exception. I think they still need a head mod, otherwise admin is going to find themselves spending a great deal of time settling disputes.
