Let's hope they don't kill off the MXP-100 totally or at least the meat of the product. I think the MXP-100 didn't fly because of the timeing of it. It came out Right after the IPOD and Right before the supposed launch of DataPlay, so it didn't have the capacity of an IPOD or the price tag of the DataPlay media., Its media was $200 more than a comparably sized DataPlay disk, though ours was rewrittable, so while many waited to see how DataPlay would go, the MXP just sat there with little interest.

If one looks at the trend in MP3 player design and features, they are taking 2 directions now, smaller/lighter and more memory. As the memory continues to increase and the size decreases, the use of tiny screens will probaly start to become a real hinderance in the design and the usefulness of these screens will be questionable. Small products like the Beo2 (that doesn't even have a screen) and the MuVo will need a better method of control once memory gets above 128/256mb, thats where VoiceNav really ought to be introduced. Designers would be able to make more units like the Beo2 without tiny useless screens if they used VoiceNav, it would be ideal for some of the necklace designed units, you just hold it up, say a few commands and your off and running with music.
