Interesting but either way there are lots of options that will remain for Pro!
It is interesting also to note their are multiple Contracts up for grabs even on this front.
If the one with ShowTime remains, the one on CBS is really a whole different Contract as CBS is the Parent Company with it's own Main and distinct Brand with CBS Sports and very doubtingly if the Contract does get down with ShowTime, I doubt it will include CBS in any way with the UFC on Fox as these are directly competing interests and not one that I bet CBS is not willing to entertain with the directly identified second tier product of Strikeforce( which will only ever be a feeder organization to the UFC as it may or may not continue to exist ).
It is also important to note that it is CBS that is the parent company who remain significant Shareholders in ProElite and will see CBS Sports as it's main stage.
The other thing of important note is there are actually 2 separate Contracts up for grabs even on ShowTime, one with Strikeforce and one with M1(M1-Global), both of which we remain without any firm confirmation at this time that they are or will be renewed, it is my guess that ShowTime would have no issue in carrying 2 separate Brands and Shows as it does today only with the brands being the one 2nd tier Product( Strikeforce or should it see fit maybe M1 in its place if it can't do a deal with them ) along side of its targeted 1st Tier Product( ProElite ) and no reason why both could not be successful with different targets and the aim in doing so.
And none of this includes the other huge range of options with a range of other Networks and premier Broadcasters as well the fact we already have a premier MMA geared station already Broadcasting our Events in HDNET, leaving us in no rush but well positioned to make the right Big Deal with whomever we choose!
