"... who wrote the Sasser email virus [escaped] jail...

... due to his being arrested as a minor."

"Sven Jaschan avoided a jail sentence by the skin of his teeth
because he was arrested within days of his eighteenth birthday.
In many ways, Sven Jaschan was lucky that the police caught him
when they did..."

re: "Ridiculous!"

kidl,

Thanks for that update, and I would find it valuable if anyone here
would choose to investigate this further under the shroud of:

"How could this be allowed to happen?"

Then investigate an answer of: "We live under the laws we deserve."

To parallel: "Do Not Mourn The Loss Of Freedom: We Have the Government We Deserve"

For me the following place on IH, of which I don't and will not post on,
could serve us well if a few IH members knowned to value thoughts
not via a Cut & Paste of articles written by others, but thru a process
whereby they create new thoughts using pieces obtained from these articles,
and pieces absorbed during their lifetime to help live and understand.

A Cut'n & Paste'n of articles from the philosophy and psychology sciences,
to be read by others, is as meaningful as a jigsaw puzzle created from a
colorful picture cut not into interlocking physical pieces, but equal sized squares,
and given to color-challenged BobZ to assemble.

I now submit a challege directed towards this board mentioned,
plus introduce a few IH members to help carry it out.

On SI is an Acronym for CFZ - Clown Free Zone

My perception of this thread is a group of smart-ass folks that feel superior
to anyone they have banned from posting there, which is near 99.999% of SI.

I challenge FredG (Koikaze) to change his board into a: AFZ - Article Free Zone

Doing so requires a person to post only their understanding of articles.

Who can do this? Zeev Hed, Phil(Bullrider), Churak?, Capt_Nemo?, BobZ...

THE PURPOSE OF THE BOARD
The people select those who represent them in government.
... cited by Warren Buffet:
"... in looking for people to hire, you look for three qualities:
integrity, intelligence, and energy.
And if they don't have the first, the other two will kill you."

I prefer my "news" to be unfiltered by someone else's reality.

... one reveals one's true self in every thought that materializes as an action...
[stop]

ok,
I use simple math like steps that Zeev can correct me if wrong.

The statement of "one's thought" is always a false axiom.

False here in the sense: not always 100% true

Once again the Bell Curve, with for example Aristotle at the far right
such that what his thoughts "materializes as an action" is less than fully accurate
to accomplish to another person in observation his "one's true self [is] revealed."

To explain, predict and render solutions to world events engaged in conflicts,
like those in Iraq, Israel, etc using actions to describe the thoughts
that caused such actions, is beyond folly, its incorrect to a degree of insane.

Logic should tell Zeev that to determine truth and falsehood in another
requires the ability to reveal one's true self through an examination
of the administration of one's thoughts into external action.

LOL! Truth is elusive, and in any event, one filters "reality" through
one's own set of predetermined filters anyway, which distorts that "reality".

I'm rapidly coming to the conclusion that not only is there no truth,
there is no reality per se, simply each bundle of complex interpretations.

If one experiences the event oneself, one cannot see the big picture.

If one is presented with the big picture, well, one has no first-hand knowledge.

Experiencing one's own "reality" is a trip we each take alone, and each person
IS the story of that trip.

If we are born with predetermined filters...

... that can not be removed, changed, modified, muted or removed,
and millions of years of evolution have altered the real world into
a state like that movie: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (1975)
then, how does one handle survival instincts gone amuck?

Vintery, mintery, cutery, corn,
Apple seed and apple thorn;
Wire, briar, limber lock,
Three geese in a flock.
One flew east,
And one flew west,
And one flew over the cuckoo's nest.

Filters (read attitudes) are presumably not inherited, but acquired, and as such are mutable.

Survival instincts (inherited and immutable) may run amuck, but the resulting action
usually conforms to the dictates of society due to the process of socialization.

But what happens when...

Note: I needed to cut & paste & insert & move around many pieces.
Its not a reflection upon you, but a needed technique I must use
whenever too many complex concepts are contained in a very few words.
What follows is really myself reading your post and creating a reply
not to you, but to myself to be read and thought about.

But what happens when your "resulting action" obtained from your

"conform[ing to] the dictates of society due to the process of socialization"

causes you to reject "Survival instincts (inherited and immutable)"

but only to discover that your

"Filters (read attitudes) are presumably not inherited, but acquired, and as such are mutable"

causing you great pain, and upon examination discover that the reason
for your rejection of certain survival instincts is based not on their validity
being discovered as anti-being, but that a lack of others to obtain an understanding
of the role designed in them causes person to person interactions to "run amuck."

What happens?

Only one of two possible outcomes,
either
A) you get yo chit together, and survive
or
B) you don't get yo chit together and don't survive.

Realize and accept, it ain't them, it's you. Your life, your choice.

third possible outcome - outta body experience

not to be confused with voices (i.e. i have 3)

imagine a person represented as a picture

the picture in pieces like a jigsaw puzzle (assembly required)

pic 1 - is how others see you
pic 2 - is how you see yourself
pic 3 - is who you really is

now,
while all the pieces of pic 1 & 2 are contained in their seperate piles
available for construction to make a picture, the the pieces for pic 3
are contained in a seperate pile, pile for pic 3 is uncomplete when viewed by you,
as certain pieces have been moved to piles of pic 1 & 2

so,
to see a picture of your true self requires you to select, mix & match
onto whatever you make from pile of pic 3, a selection from piles for pic 1 & 2

for some folks very few pieces reside in the pile for pic 3
and this extends to double trouble
when they have very few pieces in pile for pic 2,
and load up near all into pile for pic 1
