That's just the last sale, that's why if you are looking at this daily for a few pennies worth of fluctuation in price day to day, you often should ask whether the day ended on a buy or sell because it can make a 5-10 cent difference. I try not to look at it on such a short term basis though as you will go crazy as a long investor, however day traders review it every minute to see what's going on so they can make a few pennies here and there each day.
