Actually it is called a death spiral. Even that term does not apply here, the past six years can be more accurately described as a death vortex for the PPS. How do you like that term -- death vortex? It sure describes the violence of the downward path of GERS(D) PPS over the years. I think I will create an entry in Investopedia, "Death Vortex", and use GERS(D) as the pathognomonic example. Yes, the diseased state implied by that adjective does apply to the GERS(D) PPS plot over time.
