What makes the situation a bit more difficult for me is the 2 Italians, the size difference. One day last week I was expecting a friend to stop by. Well all of a sudden the home Exploded, I knew it was more that someone pulling up in the driveway. It was a Cat. The Cat was maybe 10 feet away from the Bay Window that the dogs like to hang out in. The Cat was just standing there looking at all the dogs. Now because Jayda has been in 2 fights with Breezy outside, the last fight about 1 1/2 yrs ago, costing a little over 1000.00 to put Jayda back together. I now never let the Italians outside with the Whippets, it's the Whippets Prey instinct that kicks in when they see something small and fast running. I am now noticing in the past few months that Turner's Prey instinct is kicking in, as Turner goes after Max in ways he never did in the past.
What typically happens when they get into a frenzy like that is the dogs will just start snapping at each other. Jayda has not forgotten her last fight, and now will leave the room if mass chaos like that occurs. Little Max on the other hand, thinks he is just as big as the rest, and I have to come running to grab him out of the way.
Now if I go outside, even if it is just for a few min's, I will always place the Italians in a different room from the rest of the dogs...
Now Jacki, she is never a problem. Except, Jacki is the main Alarm system for the home, and is usually the reason the frenzy starts. Once all the dogs come running to a window, Jacki get the hell out of the room... Jacki is no dummy.... LOL
