CKX, Inc. Announces Closing of Public Offering and Exercise of Over-Allotment Option

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2005--CKX, Inc. (NASDAQ: CKXE - News) today announced that, in addition to closing its public offering of 20,000,000 shares of common stock, it also closed the sale of an additional 3,000,000 shares following the exercise of the over-allotment option granted to the underwriters in connection with the offering. All of the shares were newly issued by the company and were sold at the previously announced public offering price of $11.00 per share. As a result of the exercise of the over-allotment option, the company received additional net proceeds, after underwriting discounts and commissions, of approximately $31 million, which resulted in total net proceeds from the offering of approximately $235 million.
