Sometimes a stock will surprise you and bounce if it gets very low, because of bargain hunters, then more people may buy into it as it rises. This can create a rally on nothing. Eventually, it will run out of gas and sell off, but while it's happening, it can be fun. I've seen stocks that are pure garbage do this. Other times traders manipulating the price may do it. That is what may have been happening when it was going down on a handful of shares. They get it down and people then dump. They come in and scoop them up, starting a a rally, which ends when they dump.
