kim was throwing around the idea that the new worms were transgenic but fraser didnt...in fact fraser seemed to indicate that transgenic was in the future..so which is it?..

the word platform was also tossed around but there was really no mention of a platform worm...

i still dont know why they are now talking about cleaving and saying that was what zf was supposed to do all along...if that was what zf was supposed to be doing this whole time then why is that word just now being used?..and what about the "knockout of the heavy chain gene"....i thought the worm silk gene was supposed to get removed and then replaced with a spider silk gene...doesnt sound like that is what they are doing...

why is all the verbiage changing?..is it just semantics or has there in fact been a change in the process?...a change in the manner in which they intend to get the silkworm to spin spidersilk?..

mfefree..."Well, they now have different fibers for different markets that need those specific fiber qualities"

as far as i can tell, the worms they have now aint spininng worm silk nor spider silk so i dont know where you get the idea that kblb is capable of creating any fiber let alone multiple different fibers...

as usual, no one really has any idea what kim is saying in the pr...there are different opinions on just about every sentence he wrote..

at any rate its obvious they aint there yet..they think all this new stuff will get them there faster...how fast is fast?...beats me but according to the expert on the board, 5 years in biotech is light speed, lol...fans better hope kim is not talking in biospeak...
