so, exactly what the heck is kim saying in this pr?..and why is he using a whole bunch of new words and phrasing in regards to the whole process?...

ok..i know im not really into the science but i thought kblb already had transgenically modified silkworms...if so, why is this news?..and is it 7 or is it more?..and why dont they know?..

really??..i thought the zf process was supposed to zap out the worm silk gene and zap in the spidersilk gene?....now apparently zf is going to "cleave"?..

"therefore knockout of the native heavy chain gene in embryos, from 7 of the first 13 mating pairs, analyzed"

what is the "native heavy chain gene"?..are they saying they took out the worm silk gene?..if so, why dont they just say so?..

oh ok, here we go..“The laboratory reports that seven new strains of transgenics have been confirmed so far.”

thats a little clearer...but what does the new strains mean?..i assume its means they are closer to pss...but how closer?..a lot, a little bit?..what?..

much of the rest of the pr simply says they think they have done great up to now and think they will continue to do wonderfully due to all the great gene manipulation stuff...but im still not clear exactly what the progress is from the last update?..

not knowing a lot about the science, i would just like to know if kblb has succeeded in in removing the worm silk gene and replacing it with a spidersilk gene?...i thought that was the goal and i cant tell from this pr what exactly they "knocked out" and what they put in...nor am i clear on what they actually did accomplish if anything?....and im curious about the "cleaving" thing...it almost sounds like they have changed gears on how they are trying to get to pss?..

as for the ramping up of monstersilk, thats something they have said for the last 4 quarters so no big deal there...
