The manatees at Crystal River are mostly at Magnolia Springs, King Springs and Three Sisters. Best to view just snorkeling and many will come to you. We had our own boat and they like to chew on our anchor line and were interested in our ladder and engine. Many of the older adults have barnacles on then as they come in from the ocen. The springs water is warmer and that is why the come to that area. There is also a Nuke Plant that discharges up river. They are very gentle which is good since some are over 2000 lbs and 12-14 feet long. It is really an amzing experience to see them face to face and watch them scratch their face with their flippers. If you ever get a chance try and go during the week to beat the heavy crowds.
