sckt.ob southacresdave Saw the CEO of MDRX (allscripts) on Cramer's show last night. He mentioned medical pros using the IPAD's (and other computer devices) to interface with the Allscripts systems for prescriptions, He did say other devices are used--he specifically said hand-held computers, I think.
Wish I could see that interview again.
Question: Are SOMOS compatible with the Allscripts products? If not--doom. It might be a question to ask Allscripts, not Socket.
This could be a serious problem, imo. If Allscripts software was compatible with the HP predecessor, there probably would be no problem.
Did HP exit the business because they saw that med professionals eventually would be using Allscripts and their competitor's systems, and didn't want to redesign their products to make them it compatible.
Maybe I'm worrying about a nonissue, I don't know. If the IPAD can be used for automated prescriptions, why wouldn't the SOMOS be able to do the same thing.
Things are a changin' in the medical field and it is going to be hard to keep up.
