pvc, "I dont think you know the world in which the Company you own, operates in." Don't be so quick to assume. No one can say whether or not Virgin left the table w/ what they "really" wanted or not. Why? Because we are not executives of Virgin...that simple. Who's to say that they really wanted to "quash" their patents?
Referring to previous positions I've taken on the upholding of the patents and the suspicion of a buyout, I fully believe that for this technology to have the QUICKEST and BIGGEST IMPACT (what's it called "Deep Impact" ;) only ONE company should own the bridge. Especially when it comes to the WordRegistry, IMO it HAS to be ONE company that owns the "bridge" to link all of those words, all over the world, all using the same "lookup" system. Think about it. If AOL owned the WordRegistry, the registered "words" would be as limited as the AOL keywords are today. They don't do me any good because I don't use AOL!
Not only that, but IMO, for this technology to have the QUICKEST and BIGGEST IMPACT, the company that owns the bridge must be also be 100% UNBIASED to all other BIG PLAYERS. That's why I don't think a technology based company like INTL or MSFT or GOOG will be the 20% equity partner. That, IMO, will alienate too many and disrupt the smooth, cohesive "roll-out" to anybody and everybody who wants to use PC for their own needs. But, I obviously acknowledge, I could be 100% wrong in my assessment.
Now, regarding "knowing what you own", I don't know if you're beacon's hired handler, but, beacon27 was obviously "unaware" of what he owned, in this area anyway, by making the following statement: "Virgin made it quite clear that they will drag this out for years and years, costing millions and millions of $$$$ that NEOM just doesnt have". It was noted here several times that NEOM's lawyers were being paid ONLY if they won. No favorable outcome for NEOM...settlement or decision...no payday for Baniak Pine & Gannon.
