I've followed the stock in one form or another since 2003. As for the fairly large put position established over the past few days I don't believe they bought the puts to hedge against poor earnings. Any investor with enough money to buy large amounts of puts should be intelligent enough to know that the risk manifest in ARIAD is the pipeline and its progress towards regulatory approval and commercial development, not quarterly earning. Also, if you think that there is a correlation between stock price movement after quarterly reports and earnings then you seemingly believe The stock price is moved by people who are not informed enough to know that the focus shouldn't be on earnings but instead on the progression of the pipeline including the progress towards regulatory approval

I personally believe that price movement after earnings is due to the release of news/lack of release of news vs. expectation.

The 25M has been collected. Anyone who is focused on an earnings bump from a non recurring revenue event that we've already collected the money doesn't have their eye on the ball. While some small investors might make this mistake, I doubt the major players do and highly doubt that the majority of the informed people on this board do. Just like the re-valuatoin of the warrants are meaningless. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't understand the accounting or the actual economic implications
