holycow, I think they could entice lots of talented folks (and have already done so) in joining them with just this technology alone. Options are a great means to attract talent, but seriously, do you think the select few are doing this to "attract" talent? Do you think they will relinquish their shares to the "talent" they bring in?
How many CEOs and other high corporate officers vote an options package like that to use as incentives for candidates?

I'll tell you...... none. That's what greed does to people holycow.
They don't need to go to this sort of excess for themselves to lure talent into this company. If it is for the talent then why have certain individuals been selected to receive
a huge portion of options? Why don't they set the options aside for future employees?

Above all: Scientists do it for love of the science. If this technology works like they say they will not have a problem getting "talent" to work for them.

BTW, I do not recall seeing how many share Dr. Chin will be receiving. Are they as many as MS and LW? And the powers that be claim to be concerned about attracting talent? I think you are being played holycow. A shame you cannot see that.
