A couple of older films I have seen this week.

Finally got to Diamond Men last night. 3.75/4 pickles. Robert Forster was perfect for the Eddie character projecting the calm laid back strength perfect to offset the charmingly eager but obnoxious Donnie Wahlberg character. I think Forster had an Academy Award nomination from this. The movie mostly consists of dialogue between the two as the younger man is trained by the older Eddie in the diamond business (selling to small town jewelers) so that he can be forcably retired due to the rising cost of insuring him with a heart condition. Decent ending, but I saw it coming.

Elf. It's no Shreck but I really enjoyed it. A comical farce, but a good one. 3.1 pickles for physical comedy and the number of laughs it generated. Kids will like it.
