bobs: The only fly in the ointment will be AMD's ability to supply.

Glad someone finally brought this up. It's not a fly in the ointment, it's a pterosaur. Damages are awarded in accord with what you could have produced, not what you think you could, think you will, will in the future. Since AMD sold all of what it could produce from one outdated fab, I doubt there will be any award. Not to mention that an award of sizeable magnitude would result only from someone showing guilt with all customers... not very likely, is it?

bobs: I hope Chartered comes online quickly, AMD is going to be selling everything it can produce indefinitely.

Laughable. That's providing anyone wants AMD parts aside from a few technophobes. Companies are much more interested in the company behind the parts than the parts themselves. Intel will easily find 10 companies to testify to this fact for every one revealed by AMD as "possibly" being too agressive with their sales tactics. Unfortunately, I think you will find that AMD shot themselves in the foot on this one... Too bad. That leaves Intel as a real monopoly. Something they don't need.
