At first glance it looks like they are using Adult or Pluripotent cells, which have been less effective and substantial than embryonic stem cells in other clinical studies as far as longevity and sustainability.

However, with blood cells, which generally get recycled at a much higher rate... this solution might be ideal for transfusions, which are trying to solve the short term solution of blood loss to get your body back to a point where it can produce more on its own.

I do not remember anywhere seeing estimates of how far along we are with the hemangioblast program. But some people were hoping for an IND relatively soon.
