That's because Zecco has more shares it needs to acquire than it needs to be on the purchase side of things for your brother, if you know what I mean. I'm sure they wouldn't charge that amount if your brother wanted to sell.

I've been buying for $7/trade with Vanguard. Multiple buys, with some today.

Zecco may just happen to be on the short end of things, in more ways than one, and have to restrict the buys because they can't come with enough shares to cover all their sells/shorts.

It's a bitch when short rules and regs. are actually enforced. It looks like we find out which trading houses want to play be the rules, and which ones could care less.
