Susie, I saw that virus briefly the other day courtesy of a friend of mine (computer illiterate). My Norton's AV handled the email perfectly and into the hopper the attachment went.
I suggest you get him a stand alone copy of Norton's AV and install it on his computer and set the Live update to daily. That should fix his curiosity.
BTW I don't understand why you had to "update" your AV software. That should be automatic and are you not running a firewall????
Even with my dialup I'm running both AV and Firewall. Nothing gets past them.
