I'm herein Beijing now. I have seen just the one store that had cdma20001x in it and as I said in my post on SI that was right at the back of the store effectively out of sight of the street. Take a look at my detailed post on the qcom thread from Monday.

I haven't seen any internet ads but then I don't speak Manadarin and so I'm not getting an overall picture.

There is the 5th or 6th Annual 3G convention here this week. Goodness know what they are going on about since so far as I know China is the only major economy not to have 3G in operation today.

As for the time scale you mention this is China we are talking about and things which take a month in other countries take a few days here so they have plenty of time till 2008.
