USC at Notre Dame (7:30 p.m., NBC) with the three games above. Even though neither iconic program is so much as ranked in the top 25, something about it still feels “big.” Maybe it’s simply that it’s an “event” when either of these programs suffers a loss, even though it’s not a rare occurrence. Maybe it’s my nagging suspicion that both the Irish (4-2) and the Trojans (5-1) are capable, on their best day, of beating anyone in the country. Too bad there’s no way for either team to prove that in South Bend on Saturday.
