Film series coming to USCB arts center

The University of South Carolina Beaufort Center for the Arts is joining the Emerging Pictures network of cinemas to bring a film series to Beaufort. The series offers presentations of first-run independent and foreign films and documentaries, as well as a special events, such as the Bolshoi Ballet, all in high definition.

The series kicks off Monday with the SeaWorld documentary "Turtle: The Incredible Journey" about the life odyssey of a female Loggerhead turtle. Following films include "Midnight in Paris," Oct. 24; "Brighton Rock," Nov. 4; "The Guard," Nov. 18; "Toast," Nov. 22; "The Tree," Dec. 1; "I Am," Dec. 8; and "The Names of Love," Dec. 12. All showings start at 7 p.m. Film tickets cost $8 for adults; $7 for seniors and military; and $6 for students.

The series features two ballets from the famed Bolshoi Ballet, "Swan Lake" 3 p.m. Oct. 30 and "Coppelia" 7 p.m. Dec. 19. All Ballet in Cinema tickets cost $16 for adults and $8 for students.
