Update – GSA
Uncategorized by Eric Lehner
The negotiations with the GSA have been completed on a positive note today. All matters that are required for a final GSA decision have been discussed. In response to our question about the anticipated timing of a final decision, we were told that it is likely that we will know in early October. The reason for the GSA’s suggested October timing was to save us from having to deal with the burden of formal year-end reporting under the contract in September (the end of the fiscal year). In other words, it would be more efficient for the contract to begin in October.
The negotiation process was highly professional, and most satisfactory, because it was principles-based. I am confident that the GSA has taken the time to understand the offering and how it may benefit the government agencies served, including the military. The GSA observed and stated that our company’s culture of commitment, service and resourcefulness are well suited to the enormous opportunities within the system for companies that understand the importance of their own initiative.
As a result of our on-line registration being up-to-date and good order, together with our high score in the Open Sources Rating System, we may begin bidding on specific government needs effective immediately. Accordingly, we are today submitting our first specific written proposal for the use of 6,340 gallons 1000+ Stain Remover in two military facilities, under a Request for Quotation addressed to us specifically. This specific supply bid may not be accepted – the more important point is that we are now able to respond to these opportunities, effective immediately, independent of the overall GSA contract decision for its over-arching contract. My overall assessment is that Winning Brands’ perseverance and attention to detail in the GSA application process was highly beneficial, for all parties concerned.

Government Procurement: Canada
Uncategorized by Eric Lehner
Milestone achieved by our team Sherry and Marty Doherty. We are now formally registered with Public Works & Government Services Canada, http://www.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca/comm/index-eng.html as well as the associated tendering organization http://www.merx.com/English/NonMember.asp?WCE=Show&TAB=1&PORTAL=MERX&State=1&hcode=tAF08b5PaGBuUkl43CRDCg%3d%3d. Merx presents both Canadian and U.S. opportunities. This step represents attainment of the ability to bid in Canada through a centralized facility which presents bidding opportunities for the three levels of government in one place (federal, regional and municipal).
The difference in the U.S. GSA environment, is that the listing with the GSA will take the form of a 5 year “contract” that already has certain financial arrangements pre-determined. Our GSA application has been under active review, and we have had several constructive exchanges with the reviewing officers. It is our hope, and theirs, that we will have our answer within a few weeks. The point of this post is to let shareholders know that we are making practical progress in tendering qualification for both governments now.
