Take a look at a topo map of Conglomerate Mesa and then draw in a 10 mile open pit mine. Drive for 10 miles and realize how long that is. Even a 5 mile by 5 mile destruction is HUGE!

We're not talking about an underground mine with a small footprint on the landscape!

What do you think will be left? What will stop swirling winds from blowing dust and air pollution down into both Owens Valley and Death Valley?

You did mention a 5x5 but by saying that was even huge compared to the 10 that you say sugo will try...stop twisting the facts and even your own posts around.
