I don't believe much of what I read or hear. My attitude is that the market is forward looking, news is looking at what already happened. In the same token, on days the market goes up, the news reporters are all happy and bullish. On the down days, its all negative. That wears on my emotions. Trading and emotions don't mix.
In concert with your KISS method. I've found a very simple method for investing in gold. Buy the dip in a gold stock the day after the willie crosses -50 from below on the Philly Gold and Silver Index. I'm already in JAG. As you can see, it would have been painful near Sep 19th, other times, it puts me in profits every time. I like it better when the pps comes off the lower bollie too.
