Been away.

This is why I believe it is pointless to seesaw back and forth with you.

Jeremiah 10:2-4 says:
“Thus saith the Lord, Learn not the way of the heathen,
and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven;
for the heathen are dismayed at them.
For the customs of the people are vain:
for one cutteth a tree out of the forest,
the work of the hands of workman, with the axe.
They deck it with silver and with gold;
they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

Christ wasn’t born in at the Winter Solstice. He was born in the Fall time when the shepherds were still in the fields (Luke 2:8).
The shepherds brought their flocks into the stables for the Winter.

Christmas originates from pagan worship of rebirth of the sun god at the Winter solstice. LEARN NOT THE WAY OF THE HEATHEN.
Halos and Christmas tree bulbs = little suns.
Evergreen Christmas tree = pagan practice of old.
Yule Tide and Yule Log – Scandinavian 12-day celebration in December honoring pagan sex and fertility god (Jul or Jule).
Mistletoe = from Druidic superstitions.
Santa = all knowing, same characteristics as God.

Christ didn’t observe Christmas. The apostles didn’t observe it. The early church didn’t observe it. It is not commanded in the Bible to observe it. Yet, somebody ADDED it (Deuteronomy 4:2 – DO NOT ADD).

You make your own choices as to what you celebrate; however, if you claim the Bible is your standard, and justify celebrating Christmas by saying it has been given a Christian face lift, that’s too wishy washy for me. It’s not evidencing your statement that you believe the Bible is the standard. You see how pointless it is for us to continue this? No matter what I put out there, you’ll say it’s ok to change it because somebody twisted it around to make it look Christian. You can paint the face of Marilyn Monroe on a pig, but it’s still a pig.

In response to your learned interpretation of Mark 7:14-20, you are reading that wrong. You should start at Mark 7:13 and end at 7:23. Christ starts off telling them they are annulling the Word (LAW) of God by their tradition (ADDING JUNK). He is talking about disobeying the Laws of God and making the point of spiritual defilement through the analogy of physical food. It’s not that the food in itself defiles, but the evil retained in one’s heart and mind. By entertaining thoughts of disobedience, one is soon moved to commit acts of sin. Had Christ ate pork, they would have made a huge deal of it, and He would not have qualified as Messiah because the dietary law is part of the 613 Laws in the Bible which set the standard for whether He was perfect and able to make atonement for us. He broke none of the Laws. He performed the Law perfectly. Accordingly, He was the SINLESS lamb of God. If you can’t wrap your mind around that, I honestly don’t know what else to say.

Either way, please let’s cut this discussion short because we’re just going to bounce around and annoy everybody here.
