not usually....and, i know a lot of guys were PISSED big time at us....

but, in the heat....100 deg......if you landed in a tight spot, loaded with ammo & rockets, the ship didn't have enough engine power to takeoff straight up....

ever see a loaded chopper take off.....

you go down the runway...build up speed to achieve translational lift....
