It is a striking thing that you can read "management's" mind.
Consider that the fact that they do not release "good news" might also mean that they don't have any.
Gold is only technically on a "downtrend". Though it has lost some value it is still at historic levels.
Regardless, I fail to see how price of gold reflects companies choice to release information about its operations.
Ideally, this company is an INVESTMENT and not a pump and dump.
Being more of the latter, it would seem understandable that they might hold and release information on market trends. If they were looking for short term boosts and looking to avoid dips they might play the stock this way.
Investment, serious companies could care less about the market when they release news. They are thinking about simply there company's updates and their investors' right to know in a timely and accurate fashion.
To do otherwise, is also considered unethical by many.
