Oh the possibilities, take a look at Digicel

Digicel, first established April, 2001 in Jamaica grew to 100,000 customers in approximately 100 days. In the ten years since the initial launch, Digicel's Jamaican customer base has grown to over two million users. In Haiti, where they launched operations in May 2006, the company now has 2.4 million customers making Haiti Digicel's largest customer base to date. Digicel is 100% owned by Irish entrepreneur Denis O'Brien. The company has a marketshare of over 70% in Jamaica.(Digicel makes cellphone connection in Jamaica)

It started with a 20 million dollar bond

Digicel Jamaica. Represented RBTT Merchant Bank Limited, as arranger and lender, in a $15 million bank financing and $20 million bond offering by Mossel (Jamaica) Limited (Digicel) to finance the build-out of a wireless network in Jamaica

In 2006, 5 years after they started, the founder and chairman took full private ownership with the placement of a 1.4 billion dollar bond offering

By the way, they are the fastest growing company in the caribbean and not currently in Dominican republic

The possibilities are endless
