Quiz answer—The cluelessness is that MON always loses money in the 4th quarter of a fiscal year (ending Aug 31) because the quarter is too late for seed sales in the current North American growing season and is too early for seed sales in the next North American growing season. (The same is true to a lesser extent in the 1st quarter of each fiscal year.) MON makes essentially all of its profit in the 2nd and 3rd fiscal quarters.
