i will say this though about how other companies will have their spider silk needs filled..they can fund other research to get what they need...and i doubt it will cost a billion dollars...and even if it did, those cost can be shared between them and the other multitude of companies that will want the spider silk...
and regardless of what anyone says about that research being behind and too hard, with enough money, they'll find a way...
a more likely scenario however is that china will simply steal the whole concept and outpace kblb like they were standing still in manufacturing the spider silk...
in fact it wouldnt surprise me if they already have everything they need to get it done..when it comes to espionage, corporate or otherwise, kblb and its fine scientists and management of one, are babes in the woods..when it comes to china, they are about as significant as their patents to china...
does anyone truly believe that kblb is going to "bust" china?..or that the U.S. will intervene on kblb's behalf?...they cant even make a dent on the theft that is occuring with chinas stealing apple's products..
where will everyone else gets their spider silk that they will want if they cant get it from kblb?...ill give you one guess..
well of course it may not be china..it could be korea..or it could be somewhere else...but if anyone thinks that kblb will have a lock on spider silk just because they have a patent, you are dreaming..i dont care if you laser an id number or gene mark it or anything else...if there is that much money to be had, someone is going to steal it and make it their own..
it would be a little diffcult for them if its aapl or ibm...but kblb??...lol...they wont think twice or hesitate for a second..
