Some things are weird.

Like certain interest in certain stocks

and

Why at times (if true) one is not allowed to 'buy' openly online, yet you can sell (who's getting those shares because someone has to buy them)?

I remember one time a friend had to call in his buys on a stock (it was around $4.00), because it had some restriction on (broker specific to E-trade, not TDameritrade at time), but they processed it..even though seemed MM was discouraging buying online (I'm not necessarily subscribing to certain MM not having 'shares' (viable certs) to meet settlement..but they sure didn't want more buying..when they had need to balance their books (meet settlements) imo)...couple months later the stock was $12.00+

So it's interesting with what would seem like plenty of availability (shares supposedly because of dilution (aka O/S increase)..that there may be some 'buying' restrictions by a known MM that had done a ton of the recent selling (past months) as they were the ones on the ASK most frequently and with size imo.
