Kim stated in the October cc that he had just heard of the Darwin's Bark spider and the fact that it had immense strengths. He mentioned he was interested in getting his hands on the spider. This leads me to ASSSUME that we have zero rights to anything to do with that spider. Not a geneticist, or a patent attorney. But, I think if the discovery was news to him, I highly doubt we could ever argue that any of the 200 patents apply. So That is a big deal. They can hold us by the cajones for that silk.
