I do not think a buyout is realistic at this point in time. When Platinum Studios has several movie projects out and they all are doing good, meaning they may spawn a movie franchise -- then and only then can we start dreaming of a buyout. Even though the company now has over 5,000 characters, they are not well known, other than Dylan Dog, and that did not do too well in the box office. I doubt we will be seeing Dylan Dog 2 anytime soon.

Realistically, YES, we may see a buyout, but not anytime soon. IMHO we may start thinking buyout after UNIQUE, ATLANTIS RISING and several other projects have come to the big screen or TV.
