I agree Ram's departure had nothing to do with Amphastar's approval, but it had everything to do with Momenta's future.

Having met many many of these types, I can say for certain that they're not like you. They don't care about the money. Above anything else, they're interested in the intellectual challenge and are interested in finding out if their efforts work.

Once they have an answer, they move onto the next challenge because it's more stimulating.

Sasisekharan found out his answer for this endeavour, and simply moved onto the next unsolved problem. MNTA was no longer a scientific challenge. Simple as that.

* To be clear: Yes, Sasisekharan made the decision with regards to MNTA's future. He deemed it had no remaining future in that the scientific problem was solved. So in that regard, you're correct that he made his decision based on the future of the company. But I think we can agree that you're referring to the commercial future of the company: to that I can quite confidently say he had absolutely no interest.
