"Development" has now become my most hated word in the English language. I just dont get how it could take 9 months to downsize Mark V specs to make a Mark III for the fork lifts.

Once again more questions than answers from the PR. After 9 months of future development do they have to sign another letter of intent, and subsequent finalization on the actual building/manufacturing of engines? Who's going to build the engines when they get that far? Somehow, somewhere, doesn't mass production have to become an issue?

Why not just use one of the Cyclone engine designs that the other previous developmental agreements have been working for the last 9 months to 2 1/2 years instead of developing another new one. The engines for the tanks and armored vehicles ought to be more than big enough to push around a forklift. Develop, develop, develop... We need to get something going out the doors of a manufacturing plant..

KISS, is the best motto I ever heard. IMO make 2 sized engines work for all aplications for the time being, until we have something going out the door, and then diversify afterward. We seem to have way too many irons in the fire without ever pulling one out and selling it...

The Chinese and Germans figured it out, with tractor engines a half dozen years back. They went from smoke belching 6 cylinder diesels to 3 cylinders..KISS theory.. They maintained the same or better HP and torque, and increased fuel economy by almost 40% in the process, plus becoming EPA compliant along the way.. They have just entered the American market after almost saturating the Chinese one. Technology is moving so fast in the real world that I cringe when I hear "development" after 3 years here..
