north, can you (or if not anybody else) explain what this could mean?

Does this article say interferon gets out of the equation (and must not even get replaced) or it must be removed from the equation and something equivalent (such a Bavi for instance) must come in its place.

I have read the reply but I just don't grasp the deeper meaning (or possible consequences) of what is said.
