Again, you are correct. It is never a good idea to use translated foreign expressions in support of proper English grammar.
Everybody knows what a sole subsidiary is and what it means. The objection to the usage was contained however in a post specifically devoted to the misuse of the English language by Newton. It was a perfectly valid critique and I wonder why anybody took offense. Newton has always been a complete embarrassment when it comes to literacy.
If the board is going to get in an uproar over a criticism of Newtons misuse of the language, then the board needs to take a chill pill. Get it?
