kungfu1, I'll try to answer that.

Open question. Does anyone know if an infusion of significant cash i.e. $25-50 million would accelerate the timeline for commercialization of the tandem cell? If so, when would it happen?

At the Annual General Meeting, Natcore estimated that it would cost $6 million to commercialize the tandem cell. Natcore thought that some of this money might come from their profits.

Your question regarding the acceleration of the timeline is one Natcore won't answer. Personally, I think the tandem cell commercialization would be accelerated if Natcore had the cash today.

I feel that Natcore continues to evaluate the benefits of an earlier roll-out verses the downside regarding the percentage of the tandem cell business they would have to give up for the funding.

Here's how I have deciphered the conversations I've had with Natcore on the matter:

If Natcore didn't feel that they had a very high probability of tandem cell success thay probably would have already signed an agreement for funding.

With a high level of certainty that the tandem cell will be a success, they have to be offered a great deal before they will sign the dotted line. If the great deal isn't offered, they may go it alone.

We have to keep in mind that $6 million is only $.20 per share. Natcore may earn that next year. We also have to keep in mind that the profits from a success with the tandem cell will be staggering.

This from the AGM:

Phono Solar has offered to fund the development of all of Natcore's Technologies at an expected cost of $15-$30 million. Most of this cost is for roll-to-roll.

This from Tom Scarpa:

In return, Phono wanted the exclusive use of the technologies that they funded. Natcore said no to the deal. Now, Phono has backed off from the exclusivity demand.

I'm looking forward to a tandem cell update PR. Should come soon!
Maybe Natcore will give us a time frame.
