Like you, I thought shutting down was a bogus move. It seems to be a thing to do in Silly Valley, so not uncommon. Crappy companies and good ones both do it. I know that Aligent had a few shutdowns too, but I don't think they had one yet this year. It my view business is far from booming (except real estate of course!) and most firms are trying to get by.
