Not how I see it.

QBID creates the content and provides it to the carrier. For example the NFL is a content provider to the Networks that want/bid on the shows they produce. The carriers provide the upstream content providers (CBS,NBC,QBID,etc) with a medium to broadcast there shows.

Basically the flow would be Content provider-> Network -> Carrier.

What SIRI has the luxary of is being the carrier and a provider. Therefore if they decide they want to add a new show and a paticular channel there are only in house meetings. Otherwise if NBC wanted a channel to broadcast on they goto SIRI as the carrier and work a deal for SIRI to broadcast the NBC content.

Basically it depends on your point of view. To me Directtv is my content provider even though they go downstream to get the actual content they send me.
