Business recognition dinner planned

Northern Nevada Development Authority will welcome new and expanded companies to the Sierra Region at the second annual Bubbles, BBQ Business Recognition Dinner 5:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Supper Club at Genoa Lakes Golf Country Club in Genoa.

This recognition dinner will showcase six expanded companies and 12 new companies that have relocated to the Sierra Region during the past year. Combined, these companies add more than 550 new jobs to the region, as well as an estimated 600 seasonal workers, with a first year economic impact of more than $60 million.

“The primary focus of the Bubbles, BBQ Business Recognition Dinner program is networking,” Rob Hooper, executive director of NNDA, said. “We want to introduce these new-to-the-region companies to our investors and community leaders while enjoying a relaxing social evening. It’s all about welcoming and getting to know our new business residents and also saying thank you to those existing companies who experienced growth this past year. We believe connecting our investors and business community to celebrate this great economic news is vitally important.”

New companies to the area to be recognized are: Benco Dental Supply – Storey County; BioFilm Management, Inc. – Douglas County; EMCO High Voltage Corporation – Douglas County; GSI Commerce Solutions – Storey County; Laco, Inc. – Washoe County; Nevada Copper Inc. – Lyon County; NO. NV. Laborers’ Training Center – Storey County; Richmond Mining / Nevada Iron – Churchill County; Scougal Rubber Corporation – Storey County; SureFire LLC – Washoe County; Tech Spec – Douglas County; Toys “R” Us – Storey County.

Expanding businesses to be recognized are: Comstock Mining, Inc. – Lyon Storey Counties; Continuum Packing Solutions – Douglas County; FM Mafco – Lyon County; James Hardie – Storey County, North Sails Nevada – Douglas County; Rod Hall Events – Storey County
