Media Group Holdings, a provider of mobile applications software, begins
unveiling its long-term strategic plan for marketing its Drive Safe and
responsible texting product line in conjunction with a host of new applications
that will be available within the product suite.
The Company plans to make use of Premium Mobile Billing beginning in early
October in order to allow its customers the convenience of paying for PhoneGuard
Pro for one low monthly rate billed directly to the customer's mobile phone
bill.
Beginning in September, PhoneGuard said it plans an aggressive rollout and
promotion of its new PhoneGuard Pro product in conjunction with
singer/songwriter Justin Bieber. The very successful sign up program and drawing
for a signed Justin Bieber tour jacket will close on September 15th with the
lucky winner being announced on September 30. Over the coming months additional
promotions will include text messages to PhoneGuard users from Justin and a
grand prize of a trip aboard a private jet to attend one of Justin's U.S.
concert performances.
Justin Bieber said, "This is a cause that's really important to me, and I know
affects a lot of my fans. That's why I decided to work with PhoneGuard, because
we share the same vision and goal. It's simple: text responsibly." Justin and
PhoneGuard recently announced the launch of a campaign dedicated to encouraging
responsible texting, through the use of PhoneGuard's acclaimed Drive Safe
software application, which disables the texting, emailing and keyboard
functions of a mobile phone while in a vehicle moving faster than 10 miles per
hour. Justin and PhoneGuard (www.PhoneGuard.com) are working closely with the
Remember Alex Brown Foundation, organized by the family of teenager Alex Brown
who tragically lost her life because of texting and driving.
According to a release, the new PhoneGuard Pro products suite will include a
host of safety and convenience-oriented applications that will significantly
enhance the user's smart phone experience including: 1) GeoFencing, which will
allow the phone's administrator to select geographic boundaries and receive a
text message if the phone strays outside of the boundaries, 2) Panic Button,
which is a preselected and programmed emergency call function that is activated
by the user simply hitting one key, 3) Speed Control enables the phone's
administrator to receive text message alerts showing the location and speed of
the user's mobile phone, 4) Locator, which allows GPS tracking of a lost or
misplace handset, and 5) Auto-Reply, which allows users to set up customized
responses that will automatically be sent to those who send text messages to the
user while the phone is in motion. The new PhoneGuard Pro will also contain a
set of administrative tools, such as Administrator Override that lets the
administrator allow full use of the mobile phone at all times and Request
Permission, which allows a family member or employee to request permission from
the administrator to use the mobile phone even while it is in motion.
Keith St. Clair, Chairman of PhoneGuard, said, "We believe we have designed
PhoneGuard to be a unique and highly functional product offering. We wanted to
make the product offering accessible to the youth market so we have decided to
begin offering a Premium Mobile Billing option in early October. In order to
download PhoneGuard Pro to a phone the customer will simply send a text message
to our short code number and download the product suite. Then each month the
customer will receive a small charge on their cellular bill. With Premium Mobile
Billing there are no credit cards needed and the customer is always in control."
St. Clair continued, "We believe the new PhoneGuard Pro product suite will have
a big impact in the marketplace and will not only save lives due to limiting
distracted driving, but it will also meaningfully enhance the smart phone user
experience for our customers. For example, we are especially excited about the
advanced functionality we have integrated into our Panic Button feature that
will allow the user to not only dial any preprogram emergency number, but to
also automatically send a Google maps location fix directly to the phone's
administrator. This unique feature will offer unparalleled safety, security, and
peace of mind for users of PhoneGuard Pro and we believe will be especially
popular with parents."
The Company noted that the Drive Safe application enables global positioning
satellite (GPS) tracking to calculate the speed of travel while a vehicle is in
motion. Once vehicle speed reaches 10 miles per hour, the Drive Safe application
locks the phone's keyboard, preventing the user from emailing, surfing the web
or texting while driving. Other Drive Safe features include an Auto-Reply
button, a pre-set response that is automatically delivered to the texter or
caller and reads I am driving and will contact you when I reach my destination;
a Request Permission button that allows users to request permission from the
administrator to have functionality of the mobile phone; and an Admin Override
button, allowing the administrator to type in a set password to override
PhoneGuard's System Settings so that specific mobile functions can be utilized.
For example, if a child is riding the bus, Drive Safe will know he or she is in
a moving vehicle and will disable the phone. The child will then hit Request
Permission, which sends a text message to the administrator. The administrator
can then text "yes" back to the disabled phone, unlocking the phone for 15
minutes. After this time limit, the keyboard will be disabled again.
