re GV...some very high numbers of power outages being reported from areas that Irene impacted for a cat 1 beginning storm front...

last restoration effort that GV worked per their filings was the 2009 Missouri ice storm...

Incredible flooding concerns remain also...

De ja vu...weather reporter was describing trees being knocked over in Vermont as Irene 1st impacted that area after midnight Saturday night...

same weather reporter just commented on some more reports coming in of trees being reported knocked down in Vermont as Irene is moving out of that area...nearing midnight Sunday night...

12 or more hours of rain and blowing winds for many areas impacted the hardest...

And yes NY concrete, steel, asphalt, and large buildings were spared...But a cat 4 or higher didn't role into Manhattan that has always been feared for major potential problems to that area...LJ
