and...

Remember,that PR was over a year ago.The original intention of the device(s),was, most likely, for what was stated,but,in the meantime someone could have come up with the idea described in this patent application.

Maybe they saw this as being more immediately lucrative?

The puzzle is coming together,methinks.;)
