Because there are plenty of "phantom" shares available. Once the buying REALLY picks up and the shorts have to cover, it will get really ugly.

I know the float is roughly 28M, but there are only about 6-8M shares that are out there being freely traded.

I wouldn't ever set out to hurt anyone deliberately unless it was, you know, important - like a league game or something.
